New Updates coming soon!

We actually have been doing stuff between Jan. 2006 and now, I just sort of forgot about this section of the site with all the other stuff going on! Check back soon for some good stories and faith building testimonies! -theron

Early 2006

Our latest tent meetings in Coos Bay, OR were wonderful, if extremely rainy and cold. God did some good things through the tent being there and we were truly blessed to be His tools.

Allen and Theron were sick with some kind of virus that turns into a lung bacterial infection. It affects your throat, lungs and sinuses to the point that you wonder if you will ever breathe normally again. Theron has had this particular strain for over two months! Thanks for you prayers for our health, we so treasure them!

On the lighter side, the meetings were really fabulous. To start out, On February 25, Ross and Betty tied the knot at thier wedding in the tent! It was our first full wedding in the tent performed by us and it was great fun. We are going to be doing more of them in the future; if you or someone you know is planning an out of the ordinary wedding in a tent, please contact us.

After Ross & Betty's wedding, we had a few weeks of really lovely meetings in which Allen & Cheryl taught as a team on the Father's Unconditional Love. Theron also taught a few nights on worship and what it means to carry God's presence. And was the worship outrageous!

As we are finding out, our ministry is one on one. We can pull a pretty good show, complete with sound effects and lighting, but never seem to get around to it. We always end up spending hours worshipping and than hours just talking with people. We are finding that real living doesn't have much to do with a grand meeting that contains alot of harping and gasbagging. There is a place for teaching and musical entertainment, even in church services, but we are continually drawn into more intimate relationships and even more intimate music.

In these times, being able to move in the Power of God is essential. We have an open heaven to advance to places we never thought possible, but unless we have a place in our Father's house as a son or daughter and not a servant or slave, that power will pass us by. If you don't understand the Love of the Father in an experientail manner, you can't move on to the more advanced things in God's kingdom.

That is our focus in this season. Though many should have recived this long ago and been building their foundation on it, they are still trapped in the cycle of pain and need a little nudge to get out. Our prayer is that you would be blessed by the experience of knowing you have a place in Father's house!

After Coos Bay, OR we headed back down to S. Oregon and our church family in Gold Beach. Some good friends have given a car to Theron. It had a blown engine, so he and Allen have spent the last two weeks installing a new one that Theron bought in a local town. Unfortunately, the transmission is now not working, so after this week’s Aglow conference, the whole thing has to be taken apart again to fix. He is learning that life is more than a hunk of aluminum that has wheels, and that it takes time to acquire patience! Calvin is happily riding horses every day and working cows on our friend’s ranch and Shiloh is doing her school, reading and writing some songs.

Eureka, CA December - January 2005-2006

Here's a summary of the Tent Meetings in Eureka, CA. We've been recuperating and getting things repaired the last weeks, so here goes!

Week One: Intercession. We prayed and broke the ground in the Spirit first, then worshipped for seven days. There was sparse attendance, much spiritual opposition and lots of middle-of-the-night security issues, but decent freedom as far as our worship was concerned.

Week Two: More worship, beginning teaching on the Father's Embrace. Lots of Homeless people begin attending meetings. Still sparse overall attendance. Christmas was during this time. We had a Christmas Eve service and meal. Over the two day period we provided about 95 full meals, served over 50 espresso's and gave away lots of free tunes. Cheryl did most of the cooking with some help from the homeless people staying in the old truck stop.

Week Three: Increasing attendance, people beginning to open up to Holy Spirit. Lots of strongholds still being revealed, some people are getting set free and are increasing in exuberance for the Lord. On New Years Eve we had a local band called "One Accord" headlining for the all night party. We served espresso, the famous cheese dip, veggies and Carpeling Spider (Sparkling Cider, for the uninitiated). That night we also had communion with chips and sparkling cider to welcome in the new year.

Week Four: Wild worship, decent attendance. Many receive healing and deliverance. On the last night we were privileged to have the band from Calvary Christian Center in Fortuna lead in worship. Their sensitivity to the Spirit was a pleasure and put a fitting exclamation point on the whole month.

About the Area:::

Humboldt County is probably the craziest place we have ever been in our ten years of ministry! Rumor has it that there are 5,000 homeless in this county; and at least half of them passed through the tent at some time in our four weeks here. We tried to not get too bogged down in the "homeless question", but it inadvertently came up throughout the meetings and proved to be both the main adversity and biggest fruit.

When we arrived at the site, we found that four homeless folks had been living in the old truck stop behind the tent area. The owner was okay with it, so we just laid down the law of no alcohol or drugs. By the time we were done there were seven or eight living there. The first night at 1AM of the tent being set up a group of teens tried to untie the ropes on the tent. Theron caught them and was able to rectify it before they did any real damage. One of our Heartbeat of Jesus identifying signs was stolen.... then the wind came....... Did it ever blow! Confirmed reports of 95MPH gusts were received and the tent stood! (with a lot of middle-of-the-night rope tightening)

After about two weeks we had another sound system item stolen and then our other "Tent Meeting" sign was stolen. Not that these thefts were huge, but there is a real atmosphere of danger and lawlessness over the area where we had the tent, so we were always looking around our shoulder for safety! There was an incident of gang violence down the street from the tent and numerous other crazy happenings, too.

It was however, a good setup, great fun and a real eye opener!

Testimonies:::

"Fran" (not her real name) stumbled into the tent on the first night drunk and homeless. She said she was drawn into the tent by the music, received prayer and healing from the Lord, exchanged street living for the building with the other "guests", and has been clean and sober since that first day! She is following the Only Way now, and is living in a ministry house.

David rode up on his "Harley Bicycle" the second week and ended up also staying in the building (known as Al's hotel instead of the former Al's truck stop, by now) He was trying to get his driver's license and needed somewhere to be in God's presence for a while. You gotta see his bike!

There have been several other people who are in the same boat and are serious about making changes in their lives. We have really put a lot of effort into them and are trusting that the seed we have sown will take root and bear fruit in the future.

One evening when Allen and Cheryl were praying for a lady, Cheryl placed her hand on the woman's bad knee and felt movement all around her kneecap. After a while she was able to dance in worship to the Lord. Being unable to dance before Him before, she was elated!

News!!!

There will be a wedding in the tent is Coos Bay! Grandma Betty, whom our family has adopted as honorary Grandmother, has found her true love in Ross and will be getting married in the tent on Feb. 25. They have asked us to do worship, perform the wedding, and also for Shiloh to dance. We are all very excited for both of them!

We will also be holding meetings from Feb. 19 - March 5, 2006.

Other News:::

It's been a long and tough recovery from the heart attack for Allen. He's had both setbacks and wonderful miracles in the last seven months and is mostly recovered now. Still tiring easily, he can't do quite the physical work he could do before, but is very happy to be alive and mobile.

The Heartbeat of Jesus Ministries is in a new season. It would be nice to be able to put a name and actual description to it, but apparently we are to just do what the Lord says and no more. We are not planning to travel long distances this year (i.e. To Texas and back), though we have invitations to go to the Gulf coast at the moment. With fuel as high as it is right now and the strain it puts on Allen, it just doesn't seem logistical. But, God is not always logistical of course!

What we are sensing is that it's time to look for a ministry base to travel out from, instead of constantly being on the move. We feel that we can be much more effective by doing 6-8 months of tent ministry and 4-6 months of home time; though at the moment we are going forward one tent setup at a time until the Lord prompts. The ministry base has many facets, which we will share at another time. Please be in prayer with us on this issue.

Trip to Eureka, CA  August 2005 By Cheryl

Finally deciding to go the shortest way to the coast, we prepared to make the shuttle of the rigs to Eureka. Theron and Calvin would drive the "bullet" up to Weaverville, where Allen's brother and family live. They jumped in the truck, pulled down the road, and had no brakes. We had to spend another day in the heat.

Theron was already exhausted from juggling 3 wks of worship school, hospital visits, and being the main man in charge of repairs, shuttling and all the other hats he's had to try on. Anyway, he arose the next morning at 5am to repair the brakes, which he did successfully by noon!

By then, Allen couldn't stand another day, so Theron drove our 5th wheel to Weaverville. From Redding we had 3 tire blow outs, of which Theron and Calvin were able to repair with some help in Weaverville. Theron and Calvin caught a ride back to Redding with their cousin, Hillary, and they immediately drove the bullet up to the Weaverville AG church. A very full day!

The next morning, Theron drove the big rig with the whole family down the hill to Eureka. Well, little did we know the adventure that awaited this tired and beaten down family!

On the last 7mile, 7% grade down the mt road, Theron said, "we don't have brakes, we don't have any brakes!!" He was white and sweating, Al was in the front seat, not supposed to be experiencing any stress! There we were, barreling down the mt at 75mph, going around curves, not knowing if we'd live to see the next one. We were in the Spirit, all right, screaming our prayers so the Lord would be sure to hear us.

He did, praise Him forevermore!!

Finally, we came upon a small uphill that slowed us to a rolling stop just before the hill continued down. Theron instructed us to jump out, anticipating a fire, as the wheel wells were spewing smoke and the tires were hot. We got water from the 5th wheel to cool down the brakes, which wasn't a smart move either, but they eventually cooled.

After a time of realizing that the Lord had saved us from a fatal crash, we tried to calm down and slowly, very slowly inched down the hill.

Upon arriving in Eureka, we parked at a campground and decided to not move again.... for a while anyway.

We spent a couple of days recuperating from the life and death experiences, and reluctantly, I, their Mother, "allowed" our sons to ride back to Weaverville with Allen's brother to drive the bullet down the hill. They drove 15mph and arrived safely a few hours later.

So.... by the grace, love, and peace of our Lord and Savior we are recovering from the last few weeks. It is a long, slow recovery for each one of us. We can't believe how we get so tired at 9pm, we can hardly hold our heads up. Stress is a silent killer!!!

Allen is doing much better in the ocean climate. He is walking about 2mi a day, and taking life easy for this season. It is a miracle he's alive to go through the healing process, but he will live and not die to declare the works of the Lord!!! We've been declaring that over him during and since the heart attack.

We are living one day at a time, listening to His voice, and following His plans. This is what we DO know:

The enemy came to kill, steal, and destroy the works of the Lord in the Allen Joseph Walz family. He failed! The Creator of the universe, our Father has greater plans for us than we can imagine, and they will be fulfilled! We are not cowered in a corner, in fear, because Jesus has won the victory for us.

Redding, CA June - July 2005 By Theron

While we were in Price, a friend called from CA and offered to pay my tuition to the Bethel School of Supernatural Worship in Redding, CA with Don Potter. Click here to read the experience. My parents felt it was worth it for me to attend, so we cancelled our mid western itinerary and headed west. We had 18 breakdowns on the way.

When we arrived the weather was nice and cool and it rained every other day. I started school and the rest of the family began looking for a possible tent site. We had the great blessing of being able to camp at the Redding rodeo grounds where we had full hookups and a horse for Calvin to to work every day.

My friend, Jason Smith from Yuba City, CA and a wild worshipping saxophonist, also attended and stayed in the Silver Bullet for the duration. It was shaping up to be one fun month: there were a ton of other folks at the school who are even deeper into this worship stuff than I am! Then the unthinkable happened.

Papa apparently had a heart attack while out running errands. He managed to somehow drive himself back to the trailer and collapsed at the door. Mama, Calvin & Shiloh began interceding immediately and called me at class. Jason & I rushed home and found Papa rolling around on the floor, sweating like crazy. We decided to call 911.

When he arrived at the hospital, they said he had had a major occlusion of the left coronary artery. He was rushed into the operating room and an angioplasty and stent insertion were performed. He made it through fine, to the amazement of the staff - they said he should have been dead, seeing his heart had been without oxygen for over 3 hrs! Miracles never cease to amaze, even if they aren't a dazzling display of instant healing. We have moved into reckless trust of our Creator, which is pretty exciting when you think about it.

Price, UT May 15-22, 2005

We were having one on those days... (For details on the breakdowns, click here.) However, we have solidly proven that when bad things start to happen, there a blessing is about to arrive.

The meetings kicked off with the 3rd annual interchurch service on Sunday. Every meeting was energized be the Holy Spirit and many were transformed by His presence! Our worship went up a new level as well. Allen & Cheryl ministered as a team the Love of the Father, powerful is not the word- awesome would be more like it!

The Blessing of unity was apparent in the healthy mix of people from different backgrounds attending the same services. I wish more cities could be that way!

Port Lavaca, TX March 20-28, 2005

'Tis the season of twitterpated seagulls! I know this because the tent site is right on the water next to the local seagull hang out. We are awakened at 5:30 every morning by the sound of a dozen male seagulls trying to impress their female counterparts with their extensive vocal range. Crazed from the lack of sleep one morning, I was about to run out and strangle a few of them when Calvin reminded me that they're protected. Darn!

The meetings in Port Lavaca were awesome! The site was perfect. Every night dozens of cars drove by the tent just to watch through the windows and see what was going on. We continued with what we felt the Lord instructed us to do, and that was to simply intercede for the area. We saw some good results and look forward to returning next year!

We had a wonderful Easter sunrise service in the tent with the local Methodist congregation on Sunday! The Pastor asked if we would lead in worship, then he preached on the resurrection. We opened up the curtains facing the water and, just as we sang the last song, the sun came streaming into the tent!

Richmond, TX Jan.-Feb. 2005

We just finished doing a week of worship at some new found friend's church in Richmond, TX. It was an awesome time of soaking in the river (it's starting to bubble out from underground, by the way!) and receiving revelation from the Father. It was another one of those "networking connections" that we have been experiencing lately. Our family was greatly blessed to be able to get to know this awesome group of down home believers! Check out their site at: www.trinityriverlife.com

We just finished up a our annual sabbatical this month. We spent almost four months just receiving from God and getting filled back up. During this time, we had the privilege to attend an "Experiencing the Father's Embrace" conference  by Jack Frost at Abiding Life Fellowship in Houston. It was a life changing experience in which we are still basking.

We also had a great time painting the inside of Bob Loper's (Cheryl's Dad) house. We learned a lot about painting and got to spend some quality time with family as well!

The Aglow Conference in Gold Beach, OR. 2004

We were privileged to be asked by dear friends to lead the praise for the annual N. CA / S. OR Coast Women’s Aglow conference in Gold Beach, OR. It was wonderfully fun! Those ladies were so hungry for the presence of the Lord that you could play a kazoo alone for worship and God would show up.

Price, Utah 2004

“Carbon County, the rebels of Utah” could not be more true. Only this year proved that the right kind of rebellion can be good - rebellion against the heavy yoke of the enemy. Our sixth year in Price, another wonderful time was had at the Biker Sunday put on by the Pastor Andrew.  A fruitful two weeks of meetings were culminated on the last Sunday by four churches closing their buildings down and meeting together in the tent. The blessing of family was evident as these four very different churches came together to proclaim their faith in Jesus, the Christ.

Campbell River, B.C. Youthfest 2004

Our 8th year in Campbell River. The youthfest put on by Pastor John was a success as usual. With a bunch of on fire young preachers, teachers, musicians and intercessors. There were some especially powerful meetings this year, not without hardship and change, but definitely God’s presence was present. This gathering was dynamic!

Orcas Island, Washington 2004

Our second year on Orcas. Our family got together beforehand to listen for a definite word from God concerning going there again this year. Immediately and simultaneously we all heard YES! So an expensive ferry ride later, there we were. We set up the tent, started praising God and the walls started to crumble! It was a totally Spirit-led seven nights that brought the Kingdom of God nearer to Orcas Island. We all acquired a place in our hearts for the people on the Island. A special thank you to Steve D, Ken, Betty and several others for their selflessness.

Coos Bay, OR 2004

Another area of change for us this year was in Coos Bay. We set up there for ten days of meetings. We had some awesome times where the Holy Spirit would grace the tent with His presence and change lives. Due to time limitations we had to cut the meetings short after ten days, a disappointment as we usually stay there for 3 weeks. We feel that next year we will start afresh again in a new location, hopefully on Hwy. 101 by the bay.

The Looong Drive #2 2004

We had plans (how many times did we hear that in this past election?) For a string of tent setups down the Oregon & California coast this winter, and were preparing to set up in Gold Beach, OR when we got the news of Dot’s (Cheryl's Mother) graduation. Thanks to the new trucks we were able to embark on the 2,500 mile, five day journey into East Texas. Previously, we would have had to take 10 days for such a trip.
The first stop was in Medford, OR for Allen & Theron to finish their CDL driving tests. That day at 4PM we departed for Susanville, CA.

Next was Wendover, NV. While there we found a tire on the fifth wheel that was within yards of throwing a tread. Quickly mounting a spare in the RV park we took off for a morning rendezvous with our friend Mike Lewis somewhere along I-80 in Utah.

Next stop, Cheyenne, WY we stopped the night and in the morning met our good friends, Cowboy Pastors Jerry & Andrea Martin and family for breakfast. After a wonderful time of Jesus filled fellowship we again departed.

We arrived at a fuel stop in Eastern Colorado only to discover we had blown a tire on #1 truck. After a stop at a tire store, we drove on until we had to stop to sleep in Salina, KS. The next morning we discovered another tire on the fifth wheel was about ready to blow. After another trip to a tire shop we finally drove through to Lindale; only to discover that both the front tires on #1 truck were about to blow out. So, five new tires later we finally arrived “safely” at our destination.

Dot’s celebration service was beautiful, many family members and friends came to pay their respects. Tom, Dot’s husband, missing the love of his life, is recovering well. Please pray that God would give him strength and comfort as he continues with life.

Fortuna, CA - 2003

In December 2003, we felt like God wanted us to set up the tent for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. So in the latter part of November we started looking for a site in Eureka, CA. After three weeks of hard searching, no site was to be found. Through a friend, we were given permission to play music for five nights at a church in downtown Eureka. The last night of those meetings, we met God’s man for the hour who owned prime location property in Fortuna, ten miles south of Eureka. We set up there 10 days later.
For the next 30 days and nights that little piece of property was the scene of lots & lots of praise, worship and prayer. Our family “officially” preached very little during that time. The rest was a time of corporate participation in the ministry. Christmas Day, we had a family Christmas dinner in the tent with about forty other people. What a wonderful time it was! New Years Eve was even more excellent. After an extended time of worship, drama and snacks, we all had communion together with sparkling cider and butter cookies!
